CAST ANNOUNCED FOR
LEADING LADIES

Director Greg Wiley of the Harp Players and Washington Community Theater has announced the cast of the August production of Leading Ladies.

The cast includes:  Mike Tschantz and Lynn Partridge of Iowa City; Kelly Swift of Wellman; Mike McNurlen of Keota; Tom Dawson, Lori Wiley, Ed Colby and Greg Wiley of Washington.

Performances are August 6 & 7 and 13 & 14 at 7:30 pm at the Washington Community Center, 2227 250th Street, Washignton, Iowa.

In this hilarious comedy, two English Shakespearean actors, Jack and Leo, find themselves so down on their luck that they are performing "Scenes from Shakespeare" on the Moose Lodge circuit in the Amish country of Pennsylvania.  When they hear that an old lady in York, Pennsylvania, is about to die and leave her fortune to her two long lost English nephews, they resolve to pass themselves off as her beloved relatives and get the fortune.  The trouble is, when they get to York they discover the relatives are NOT nephews BUT nieces instead!!

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students (through high school) and are available by calling the theater box office at 319.653.5175.

Be sure to mark your calendars now and plan to attend.

Quilters
W.C.T - Directed by Mike Kramme
September 30 and October 1, 2 & 3
Quilters is a musical about pioneer women, with a book by Molly Newman and Barbara Damashek, and lyrics and music by Barbara Damashek.  It is based on the book The Quilters:  Women and Domestic Arts by Patricia Cooper and Norma Bradley Allen.  Quilters follows the story of a pioneer woman (Sarah) and six women who are called her daughters.  Rather than a straightforward storyline, the musical is presented as a series of short tales and tableaux matched with musical numbers, each presenting an aspect of frontier life or womanhood.
